Google’s Commitment To Train 1 Million People In Africa On Digital Skills

Last month i attended an ICT summit where Google’s country manager for Nigeria was the guest speaker. There she talked about a Google powered digital learning initiative and encouraged us to expect announcements via her social media channels.

Well, the wait is over as she just announce Google’s commitment to train 1 million people in Africa on digital skills via a platform called digifyfrica

According Google, it will support its partner, Livity Africa to run two training programmes, ‘Digify Bytes’ to give digital skills to young people looking to develop a digital career and ‘Digify Pro’, a three-month immersion program for digital specialists, to realise this bold ambition.

Already, these programmes have been launched in Nigeria, with a four-day ‘Digify Bytes’ training held at the Mulliner Towers, in February this year in Kenya and South Africa.

However, the second element of the programmes with digifyafrica, an online-learning portal which will house a range of digital skills courses, available to anyone in Africa, was launched on Tuesday.

Sign up and ensure to attend the Lagos - Digify Bytes Session holding on 23 April 2016.

Let’s get Digified. See you there!
